This training aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and competence required for working with vulnerable individuals and encountering them. It satisfies the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse Policy and Procedures established by the HSE, Social Care Division.

Upon completion of the course, learners should understand the various types of abuse that affect vulnerable individuals, be able to recognize signs of abuse and be aware of its manifestations, possess knowledge of coping strategies to handle situations involving vulnerable persons, know whom to report incidents of abuse to and the appropriate reporting procedures, understand how to provide assistance and support to vulnerable individuals, and be familiar with National Policies and Procedures relating to Vulnerable Persons. 

Who should complete?

This workshop is suitable for individuals working in roles that involve contact with vulnerable persons, such as healthcare professionals, social workers, caregivers, educators, and anyone else whose work may bring them into contact with vulnerable individuals.

Entry Requirements

To access this award the learner should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the preceding level of the National Framework of Qualifications. This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience.

Proficiency in written and spoken English, as well as computer literacy skills, are essential.

Upon successfully finishing this Workshop, participants will receive a Barrow Consultancy & Training Certificate valid for two years.
